Minor Set Backs

Well, my first training setback of the season, albeit it is a very minor one for which I'm thankful!

I have had to take a week off from my training schedule to recover from a very minor surgery I had done last Monday. Actually, I must admit, it has been kind of nice taking a little break. Sleeping in until 7:00 am has been quite the luxury compared to my normal 4:20am wake up calls. :-) However, I have missed my early morning runs and other workouts with my gal friends. I'm looking forward to getting back on track this coming week though.

It is interesting though how our minds work. I have been so focused on trying to get in all my training that I did become a little "down" over the weekend having missed all my workouts this week. But, I snapped out of it shortly thereafter, because in the grand scheme of things, I mean seriously, it is one whole week, NO BIG DEAL!

On another note, I am about to begin my third decade in this thing we call life and I have to say, I'm looking forward to what my 30's will bring. :-) I mean, what better way to start off turning 30 than to be training for an Ironman! I'm soooo excited!

Well, here's to getting back on the bandwagon this upcoming week and having some great, fun workouts! Getting excited for the Knoxville Covenant Health marathon coming up in 5 weeks, first big race of the training season! Whoohoo! :-)
